Safeguarding Training: Wednesday 15th July 2026

We Make Wycombe is running FREE Safeguarding Training on Wednesday 15 July at Wycombe Library.

We recommend all artists working with us in the We Make Wycombe Hub or with Whizz Fizz do this training. It is only 2 hours long and is invaluable for your own employment in a freelance capacity or running events etc.

Key reasons why safeguarding training is important:

  • Recognize and Respond: Training teaches staff to identify signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and to respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns.
  • Legal Duty and Compliance: Many roles require mandatory training to comply with legislation, helping to avoid prosecution or negligence.
  • Clear Reporting Procedures:
  • It provides the knowledge to record and report incidents effectively, ensuring concerns are escalated correctly.
  • Preventative Culture: It fosters an environment where potential risks are identified early and mitigated, moving beyond just compliance to an active, safer environment.
  • Building Confidence and Knowledge: Regular training gives employees the skills and confidence to handle sensitive situations calmly and correctly.
  • Understanding Roles: It ensures that all staff, volunteers, and trustees understand their specific roles and legal responsibilities in protecting vulnerable individuals.

This session is now fully booked however, we are planning more sessions so please register with us below so we can let you know when the next workshop is.
